Tara Houston is well versed in all aspects of the design process and serves as an instrumental member of the MCA team. As a Senior Project Designer she focuses on leading and inspiring talented studio designers to execute not only beautiful, but functional interiors that create opportunities for living better. Her top-flight design experience combined with proven leadership ability ensures MCA projects deliver innovative design solutions that get results.

Tara joined MCA in 2011. She quickly demonstrated her abilities, executing multiple successful projects on time and on budget. Within a year, Tara began mentoring others on the MCA team. Her natural skill in leading collaborative and inspired teams and led her to her current role as Senior Project Designer | Interiors. In this leadership capacity Tara manages and mentors a team of proficient designers known for efficiently and cost-effectively producing compelling design projects. She has developed trusting and long lasting client relationships by exceeding client expectations on every project.

Her proficiency in designing elevated interiors has earned numerous awards including Best In American Living Awards (BALA) – Platinum winner for the Liseter Carriage Barn in Newtown Square, PA, San Francisco BIA Home Building Awards – Best Interior Merchandising, and Building Industry Association’s (BIA) 43rd Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence (MAME) – Best Outdoor Living Space for Serena at Gale Ranch in San Ramon, CA.

Prior to joining MCA Tara served as an Associate Designer with Childs/Dreyfus Group where she worked on a wide range of projects. During her tenure there she received three Builder’s Association SAM Awards as well as acknowledgement in The New York Times and local print and broadcast media.

Tara received a Bachelor of Science in Visual Arts and Theater & Dance from Florida State University.
In addition to applying her design acumen to her new home’s projects and renovations, Tara enjoys fueling her creative spirit with traveling, cooking, hiking and exploring.
