Corey Buss brings five years of architectural design and project management experience to MCA. With a passion for creating distinctive, personalized spaces, he is committed to designs that clients – whether homeowners or renters – can enjoy as uniquely their own. Corey relishes suffering the details because he knows even the smallest details can make the biggest impact if well-executed.
Corey joined MCA in 2019 and leads MCA teams through all phases of design including initial space planning, project positioning and identity, and final product installation. He specializes in developing exceptional amenities for multi-family housing projects that exceed client expectations and secure sales.
Prior to joining MCA, Corey worked as a project manager at GTH Architects, an architectural firm serving Chicago’s North Shore. During his tenure, he worked on new home construction design, unique renovations including a detailed Conservatory that provided transitional indoor/outdoor space. He also worked on projects that successfully integrated historic elements with modern functionality and sophistication.
Corey received a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies magna cum laude from Southern Illinois University (SIU) in Carbondale. He received a Master of Architecture degree from University of Illinois Urbana – Champaign. He served as AIAS Chapter President during his time at SIU and as Architecture Student Advisory Council Co-President during his graduate studies.
In his free time, Corey enjoys spending time with friends, checking out new restaurants, listening to live music, and traveling to new environments in and outside of Chicago. He also can be found spending time with his family and two nephews.
