Director | Studio Operations

Katie Schelinski brings more than a decade of design, project management, and leadership experience to MCA. In her role as Director, Studio Operations, she oversees successful project delivery through strategic staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and operational processes. Drawing on her background in both design and project management, Katie develops operational solutions that improve efficiency, empower project teams, and create the foundation for exceptional project outcomes. She collaborates closely with Design, Procurement, and Business Development to strengthen alignment across MCA while fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

Her leadership is rooted in a deep understanding of MCA’s proven process. Her ability to bridge creative vision with operational strategy allows her to develop innovative solutions that support both design excellence and project execution. With expertise in concept development, sketching, renderings, space planning, and merchandising, she establishes strong design direction that balances aesthetic intent with client goals, budgets, and project constraints.

 

Katie’s journey with MCA began as an intern in 2012, and her passion, dedication, and leadership quickly led to progressive roles of increasing responsibility — from Assistant Designer to Project Designer, Director of Design, and now Director of Studio Operations. Throughout her career, she has contributed to a diverse portfolio of model homes, multifamily communities, clubhouses, and student housing projects. Her creative influence on the clubhouse at Hidden Village in Aberdeen, New Jersey, helped earn the Shore Builders Association of Central New Jersey’s Community of the Year Award for Best Multi-Family/Multi-Unit Rental Community.

 

Katie earned her B.F.A. from Harrington College of Design, where she focused on interior design and fine art. She also completed a semester abroad at Florence University of the Arts in Florence, Italy where she studied architecture and design.

 

When she’s away from the design studio, Katie enjoys exploring new places, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, and spending quality time with her husband at their lake house in Michigan.
