Yoa Perez

Project Designer

Yoa joined MCA with significant high-end residential and hospitality design experience. His journey from Cuba to Chicago reflects his resilience and drive to create beautiful, meaningful spaces that each tell a unique story.

With over 7 years of progressive design experience in both hospitality and high-end residential projects, Yoa successfully managed all aspects of design and implementation including concept development, documentation, FF&E selection, and installation.

As Project Designer, Yoa works with his studio lead and other designers to research and develop a project’s position, formulate a narrative that captures a project’s essence, and create design concepts tailored to target demographics. He also helps establish timelines, project deliverables, and budgets.

Yoa utilizes advanced technology tools to bring his creative ideas to life while ensuring all aspects of design and installation meet design requirements and exceed client expectations.

Prior to joining MCA, Yoa held interior design positions at Chicago area firms including Donna Mondi Interior Design and The Gettys Group. In addition to handling all aspects of design and implementation, his responsibilities allowed him to work collaboratively with major hospitality brands including Marriott, Hilton, Royal Sonesta, and others.

Yoa received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from The Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago and a Bachelor of Sciences in Information Technology from University of Lazaro Cardena in Cuba.

Away from the office, he enjoys a variety of adventures with his friends that range from Friday Happy Hour to hopping a plane for an uncharted destination. He also enjoys volleyball, architecture and home-flipping, and shopping with a special appreciation for fragrances and shoes.
