In honor of our Power of Paint Contest, today we’re doing a little something different and showing you how to recreate one of our designs! This bold master bedroom, designed for M/I Homes, is one of our favorite recent spaces. It’s a great example of how The Art of Space can bring harmony to any space, no matter the style.
The use of pattern, texture and scale are front and center in this photo, but as in many spaces, knowing wall color trends was the first key to pulling the whole space together. To accomplish this eye-catching look, we used Sherwin Williams paint in Loggia, Keystone Gray, and Sage Green Light for the stripes, and Westhighland White for the trim. Keep reading below for ideas on how to copy the rest of the room, no matter your budget.
A reclaimed wood headboard adds pattern, texture, color, and loads of character. Save: King Reclaimed Wood Headboard, Jen’s Simple Dimensions ($575) / Splurge: Reclaimed Wood Sculpture King Headboard, Modern Textures ($1,400).
Hanging pendant lights a little lower adds an unexpected touch, allowing them to work as bedside lamps while balancing out the massive scale of the nightstands.
