Josh Kassing

Senior Vice President

Josh Kassing brings unbridled enthusiasm and experience to his leadership at MCA. He champions design teams to deliver highly engaging, human-centered environments while bridging creative results with forward-thinking business development. His energetic personality coupled with successful relationship-building and development of strategic initiatives, positively influences the firm’s growth trajectory.

As Senior Vice President, Josh focuses on expanding existing client relationships to include additional business divisions and geographic markets. He also leverages his creative vision and keen ability to recognize opportunities that are ahead of the industry curve to obtain new clients in a variety of sectors and product types.

Josh joined MCA in 2017 as Creative Director and advanced to VP Design Development just two years later. Earlier in his career, he worked at SOM (Skidmore, Ownings, and Merrill), a prominent Chicago architectural firm, on all phases of design for domestic and international commercial, residential and hospitality projects. He also designed domestic and international luxury hospitality projects for The Gettys Group, a global hospitality firm.

Since joining MCA, Josh’s ability to grow business relationships with clients has allowed MCA to expand into new markets and build a diverse client roster that features 30+ firms including Toll Brothers, M/I Homes, CIM Group, Golub & Company, BNE, Lombardo Homes, and others. To help reach existing, new and potential clients via non-conventional ways, he was instrumental in co-developing a series of white papers to share trends, ideas and insights via the firm’s website, social media and email marketing.

Josh is a regular go-to source for the industry where he offers contemporary perspectives through presentations and published articles and presentations at conferences. His articles have appeared in Mansion Global, RE Journal, Multi-housing News, Multifamily Executive, Builder and Developer, Green Home Builder and IIDA Perspectives to name a few. He has presented at the Interface Student Housing Conference, the NMHC annual conference and many other flagship events.

Originally from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Josh received his Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Iowa State University where he also served as a studio instructor for the College of Design. He continues to guest lecture and mentor undergrads there.

When he’s not creating beautiful spaces for MCA, Josh is busy transforming and flipping upscale vintage urban residences. You can also find him playing the piano, eating good food and drinking good beer, or on a plane (destination anywhere + everywhere).
